- FIRST PLACE BUCK: Andy Wessel of Pocahontas. 203 pounds, plus 11-point antler score of 164-4/8. Total Score: 367-4/8.
- SECOND PLACE BUCK: Keith Stefanisin of Bartelso. 215 pounds, plus 10-point antler score of 141-3/8. Total Score: 356-3/8.
- THIRD PLACE BUCK: Dan Maue of TRENTON. 205 pounds plus 8-point antler score of 143-3/8. Total Score: 348-3/8.
- HONORABLE MENTION BUCK: David Bueller of Carlyle. 190 pounds plus 13-point antler score of 124-6/8. Total Score: 314-6/8.

Third buck turned in for archery contest
Andy Wessel of Pocahontas killed this 203-pound field-dressed buck. The 11-point buck is currently in third place in the Deien Chevrolet and Compound Bow Rifle Sight Big Buck & Doe Archery contest. Dan Maue of TRENTON holds second place with a 205-pound, 8-point field-dressed buck. First place is held by Keith Stefanisin of Bartelso. He killed a 215-pound, 10 point buck. Places are based on weight only at this point; final standings will include point scores. More than 90 archery hunters are competing for $700 in cash prizes.

Dan Maue of TRENTON harvested this 205-pound field-dressed buck. The 8-point buck is currently in second place in the Deien Chevrolet and Compound Bow Rifle Sight Big Buck & Doe Archery contest. First buck turned in for archery contest
Keith Stefanisin of Bartelso harvested this 215-pound field-dressed buck this past weekend. The 10-point buck is the first deer turned in for the annual Deien Chevrolet and Peep Eliminator-Compound Bow Rifle Sight Big Buck & Doe Archery contest. More than 90 archery hunters are competing for $700 in cash prizes.

11th Annual Big Buck & Doe Archery Contest Illinois archers are invited to participate in the 11th annual Big Buck and Doe Archery Contest, co-sponsored by Peep Eliminator in Breese and Deien Chevrolet in Trenton. Registration for the contest is open through September 30.
Cash prizes will be awarded as follows: largest buck, $300; second largest buck, $200; third largest buck, $100; and largest doe, $100. There is no entry fee.
Final results for the 2015 contest were:
- First place in the buck category went to Trevor Koerkenmeier of St. Rose. Koerkenmeier killed an 8-point, 171-pound buck and took home $300. His total score was 328.
- Keith Zurliene of Trenton won second place with his 173-pound buck. With a total score of 292-2/8, Zurliene's 8-point buck won him $200.
- Adam Rakers of Ruma took third place and $100 with his 165-pound, 9-point buck. Rakers' total score was 286-3/8.
- The doe category was won by David Buehler of Carlyle. Buehler's doe weighed in at 145 pounds and won him $100.
All registering archers must be Illinois residents and have a valid hunting license and tag. Participants must use a recurve or compound bow; no crossbows are permitted, except when used by physically challenged hunters.
Archers must register in person at Deien Chevrolet, located at State Rt. 160 and New Hwy. 50 in Trenton, on or before September 30. The contest is open to archers in Clinton and surrounding counties. Archers must be able to weigh deer in Breese, Illinois.

Final standings in the ninth annual Big Buck and Doe Archery Contest have been announced by Melvin Deien, owner of Peep Eliminator and Deien Chevrolet, co-sponsors of the event.
- FIRST PLACE BUCK: Keith Langenhorst of Aviston. 203 pounds, plus 8-point antler score of 333-3/8. Total Score: 333-3/8. Prize: $300.
- SECOND PLACE BUCK: Ron Becker of Carlyle. 185 pounds, plus 9-point antler score of 318-4/8. Total Score: 318-4/8. Prize: $200.
- THIRD PLACE BUCK: Tom Richter of Breese. 190 pounds, plus 12-point antler score of 316-2/8. Total Score: 316-2/8. Prize: $100.
- BIGGEST DOE: Mark Lockowitz of TRENTON and Shane Hellman of Carlyle. Both hunters killed 115-pound field-dressed does and won $50 each.
Honorable mentions go to:
- Kris Deien: Breese, 170-pound, 10-point buck. Total score: 312-5/8.
- Jason Buehler: 180-pound, 10-point buck. Total score: 308-3/8.
