Current standings in the sixth annual Big Buck and Doe Archery Contest are as follows: first place in the buck category is held by Rob Wutzler of Highland. Wutzler killed a 212-pound, 11-point buck. Shane Hellman of Carlyle and Kenneth Berman of Highland are tied for second place. Both bucks weighed in at 211 pounds with 9-points. Third place is held by Mark Lockowitz of Trenton, who killed a 197-pound, 11-point buck. The current buck standings are based on field dressed weight only at this time; antler scores will be included in the final scores.
Shane Hellman also leads the doe category. His 137-pound field-dressed doe topped previous leader Brandon Wobbe’s 123-pound doe. Other hunters with notable bucks are Keith Zurliene of Trenton. His 10-point buck weighed in at 178-1/2 pounds, field dressed. Kevin Karrigan of O’Fallon killed a 120-pound field-dressed, 4-point buck, with one side broken off. The annual archery contest is sponsored by Deien Chevrolet in Trenton and Peep Eliminator. 90 hunters are competing for $700 in cash prizes.

2010 Big Buck & Doe Archery Contest winnersWinners in the fifth annual Big Buck and Doe Archery Contest are as follows: first place in the buck category was won by Dustin Rakers of Breese with his 191-pound, 8-point buck. Second place ($200) went to Brian Boeckman of Breese who killed a 175-pound, 7-point buck. Craig Litteken, from Germantown, killed a 182-pound, 6-point buck and won third place ($100). Dan Maue of Trenton won the doe category with a 115-pound doe. The annual archery contest is sponsored by Deien Chevrolet in Trenton and Peep Eliminator. Entrants competed for $700 in cash prizes.
